EPA studies of human exposure to air pollution indicate that indoor levels of pollutants may be 2-5 times higher than outdoor levels. Symptoms of health problems caused by biological pollutants include sneezing, watery eyes, coughing, shortness of breath, dizziness, lethargy, fever, and digestive problems.

We use Ionizer and HEPA Filter technology to purify indoor air. But they are only effective in a limited area. Mold grows in air conditioning systems when spores enter from the environment and germinate in the presence of moisture or nutrients. Drain pans, cooling coils, duct walls, and duct insulations are typically present in air conditioning systems and can foster the growth of a variety of fungal spores. Scientists have known for many years that natural sunlight is the most effective way to purify air. This is accomplished by the ultraviolet ray which makes up part of the sun's light spectrum. The UV-C bulb with wavelength of 254 nm was proved to be the most effective for air purification purposes. Ultraviolet light destroys a microorganism by scrambling its DNA structure, which prohibits reproduction. The length of time the microorganism is exposed to UV light and the intensity of the light are the factors to consider for effective bacterial reduction. Exposure time is usually expressed in microwatt-seconds-per centimeter squared.
