UV-C 30 Watt In-Duct Air Purifier
Good Health is impossible to achieve when breathing polluted indoor air!!
Indoor Air Quality is too important to be careless.
EPA studies of human exposure to air pollution indicate that indoor levels of pollutants may be 2-5 times higher than outdoor levels. Symptoms of health problems caused by biological pollutants include sneezing, watery eyes, coughing, shortness of breath, dizziness, lethargy, fever, and digestive problems.
We use Ionizer and HEPA Filter technology to purify indoor air. But they are only effective in a limited area. More importantly, we need to realize that the central air conditioning system is the major source of the pollutant. Due to the cooling coil and drain pan being humid, bacteria, mold, and other microorganisms can easily grow and deposit inside. And we rarely clean central air conditioning systems since it is a costly and troublesome job. After years, you may imagine how bad the bacteria and mold hiding inside can pollute the indoor air. The easiest solution is to install an ultraviolet germicidal light inside the air duct. It will kill all the hidden and airborne pollutants.
"Ultraviolet light (C band) emitters shall be incorporated downstream of all cooling coil and above all drain pans to control airborne and surface microbial growth and transfer" -- U.S. Standard for Government Building
One of the most effective and economical ways to control bacteria, mold, allergens, and airborne pathogens growth in the air conditioning and heating systems.
Environmental Protection Agency studies of human exposure to air pollutants indicate that indoor levels of pollutants may be 2-5 times, and occasionally more than 100 times, higher than outdoor levels. http://www.epa.gov/iaq/
Mold grows in air conditioning systems when spores enter from the environment and germinate in the presence of moisture or nutrients. Drain pans, cooling coils, duct walls, and duct insulations are typically present in air conditioning systems and can foster the growth of a variety of fungal spores. Scientists have known for many years that natural sunlight is the most effective way to purify air. This is accomplished by the ultraviolet ray which makes up part of the sun's light spectrum. The UV-C bulb with wavelength of 254 nm was proved to be the most effective for air purification purposes. Ultraviolet light destroys a microorganism by scrambling its DNA structure, which prohibits reproduction. The length of time the microorganism is exposed to UV light and the intensity of the light are the factors to consider for effective bacterial reduction. Exposure time is usually expressed in microwatt-seconds-per centimeter squared.
Our UV-C 30 Watt Air Purifier consists of a high output ultraviolet UV-C bulb, and a specially designed transformer unit to power the UV-C bulb. A Voltage Stabilizer, Surge Protector, Overload Protection and Overheat Protection Circuitry are built into it to make the system extremely reliable and stable. The transformer unit will be mounted on the outside of the duct and UV-C bulb protruded through a hole that needs to be drilled by the installer. The UV-C bulb is installed at right angle to airflow to kill airborne bacteria and other microorganisms that circulate through the conditioning system. UV-C 30 will keep the cooling coil clean and that makes it easier on the compressor. That means greater efficiency and lower utility costs. It can save 10 -20% of the electricity used by your air conditioning system. The UV-178 eliminates biological growth so there's much less wear and tear on your cooling compressor, extending the life of your air conditioning equipment.
